How strong is the air dry clay when dry? Is it waterproof? Does it dry hard or stay squishy?

The air dry clay is not squishy when dry, but it becomes super light like foam. It is not waterproof and will soften if soaked.

How long does it take to fully dry? Will it shrink or warp?

Your freshly made air dry clay work creation needs 24–48 hours to air dry naturally. No baking required. It will shrink about 10% in volume after drying and will not crack.

How long can the finished air dry clay work be preserved?

Proper storage keeps clay items for about 3 years. Applying a protective coating like varnish can extend their lifespan.

Can I paint it? What paints can I use? Do I need to seal it after painting?

Once the air dry clay is completely dry, you can paint it with acrylic or watercolor paints. However, you must seal it after painting (for example, with a water-based varnish) to prevent fading and moisture damage.

Is air dry clay good for sculpting, home décor, or kids’ crafts? How much detail can it hold?

Air dry clay is suitable for kids’ crafts, simple sculptures, and lightweight decorations (clay decorative painting). It is not suitable for fine jewelry or high-detail projects, because the material is soft and easy to deform, and it shrinks about 10% after drying. It can only hold medium-level detail (such as cartoon shapes).

Is air dry clay non‑toxic and safe, wheat/gluten free?

The air dry clay is non-toxic, safe, and wheat/gluten-free

Is it beginner-friendly and easy for kids to use?

The air dry clay very easy to use and friendly for beginners and kids.

Does the air dry clay dry out quickly while working? How do I prevent that?

It slowly dries out while you work with it. To prevent that, only take out the amount of clay you need each time and keep the rest sealed.

After opening, what is the best way to store this air dry clay?

To maximize the usability of unused Ixiaoyoo Air Dry Clay, it is recommended to store it in a sealed container with a temperature between 41 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit and a relative air humidity of 60% ± 20%. Please avoid placing it in high temperatures or direct sunlight.
