Curious kids try to explore everywhere, but the Safety 1st OutSmart Lever Handle Lock helps you keep them safer with the first ever decoy button. Your child will think the decoy button will let them open the door, but pushing it has no effect. You’ll know that the surface on the sides hides the actual secret to opening the door. The Lever Lock is a clever way to prevent your little explorer from accessing off-limit rooms. It installs easily and can be operated by an adult with a squeeze on the hidden buttons built into the hinge. The decoy button won’t do anything when pushed, but adults in the know can easily open the door. In side by side comparisons with leading competitors using real life toddlers, the Safety 1st OutSmart Lever Handle Lock was strong enough to keep even the cleverest of toddlers out. Even in lab testing using state of the art mechanical pull force equipment, Safety 1st outperformed the competition.

Customers find the door lock effective at preventing toddlers from opening doors, with one mentioning it works well for 3-4 year olds. The product is easy to install and use, with a decoy button that keeps children distracted. While the adhesive firmly adheres to the door, some customers report issues with the adhesive being impossible to remove. Customers disagree on whether the lock is extremely difficult for children to open and whether it causes door damage during removal.
