No, the pull cord button sends a wireless signal to the monitor. The monitor runs on 3x C-batteries (not included), or an optional compatible AC adapter (also sold separately). The call button has a long-lasting built-in battery.

How are alerts triggered, and where do they go?

Residents can pull the cord or press the button. The paired monitor then sounds and its red light flashes to alert nearby staff.

Can the pull-cord button be used in a bathroom or shower area?

Yes. The call button is water-resistant, not waterproof or submersible. Mount it in an appropriate bathroom location where it stays within easy reach, and follow Smart Caregiver installation guidance.

Can I expand the system or connect it to an existing nurse-call system?

Your included monitor can pair with up to 6 compatible Smart Caregiver devices. With the sold-separately NCLA-01 adapter, it can also connect to compatible nurse-call systems. The monitor still needs battery or AC power.
