Is this a plug-and-play chime for Google Nest Doorbells?
No. This is a smart WiFi chime that requires setup through the Smart Life App and Google Home Household Routine. After setup, it automatically plays when your Nest Doorbell detects a ring.
Does this chime work with Google Home?
Yes. Add the chime to the Smart Life App first, then link Smart Life with Google Home and create a Household Routine to connect your Nest Doorbell ring event with the chime.
Why can’t I find “Doorbell rings” as a trigger in Google Home?
You may be creating a Personal Routine. Google Home only supports doorbell event triggers in Household Routines. Please select “Household Routine” when setting up the automation.
Why is there a delay before the chime rings?
Battery-powered Nest Doorbells may have a few seconds of delay because they enter low-power mode to save battery. Wired models respond faster. The delay comes from the doorbell waking up, not the chime.
Will the chime work if my phone is turned off or I’m away from home?
Yes. After setup, the chime works independently through your home WiFi connection. Your phone is only needed for initial setup or changing settings.
