Why are the mounting screws so long?

The screw length meets ETL safety standards for a standard junction box. If your wall has no junction box, just add M4 flat washers (sold at any hardware store) or cut screws 3–5mm shorter. The product is not defective.

My wall doesn’t have a junction box. What should I do?

No problem. Get a few M4 flat washers from a local hardware store (costs pennies), stack them on the screws to fill the gap, and the bracket will sit flush. Or use a cutter to shorten screws slightly. Easy fix – no return needed.
